Are you aware that a solar farm with 200,000 panels and the potential to power 48,000 homes is being planned just 42km north of Albury?

In late June 2025, five members of WATCH met three representative from Elgin, the Morven solar farm developer, and two from Urbis, the contracted social engagement company.

WATCH emphasised the importance of biodiversity, agriculture and community benefits. The interaction felt very genuine and positive. 

WATCH member, Lauriston, later visited the proposed site, which appeared to have no immediate drawbacks, though some areas will need to be treated sensitively.

Members of WATCH will continue to monitor the project and engage with Elgin and Urbis when appropriate. 

The developers are eager to engage with the community, so please get involved.
